A Canadian Street Scene

When dreaming up winter scenes- we see in our hearts the street scenes we know and love so much here as a part of our Canadian winters.  And this Newfoundland Street Scene inspired by Group of Seven artist Lawren Harris, captures exactly what we love about Canadian Winters…we are immersed in an icy world for a good part of our year, BUT we have the colours of life in our houses and our hearts to warm those days that we spend inside with those we love around us.

Come and learn to paint in this style and enjoy the the work of a Group of Seven Artist.  Made with a twist so anyone can paint this scene- it will be a fun night for all. Add your own touch to the houses, choose your own colours! Do it all in black and white! Your canvas, your inspiration, we will help and make the night fun for you!

No artistic experience is necessary. Our expert artist will walk you through all the steps you need to paint work of art that is so frame worthy, your friends will be all jealous that they do not have one for themselves.

A note on Lawren Harris:

He was known to have pioneered a distinctly Canadian painting style in the early twentieth century. He was known as someone that provided the stimulus for the Group of Seven. During the 1920s, Harris' works became more abstract and simplified, especially his stark landscapes of the Canadian north and Arctic. He also stopped signing and dating his works so that people would judge his works on their own merit and not by the artist or when they were painted. In 1969, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.

We have a beautiful, fully stocked and licensed wine bar, a sweet lounge to hang out in before and after your paint party and our wines have been carefully chosen and curated to pique your interest.

We also carry a selection of craft beers, juices and non-alcoholic beverages if wine is not your thing.
