The Art of Indian Zentangle and telling your story through motif
Meena Chopra is an accomplished artist who has been a visual artist since 1985 and writing poetry since the 90's. Going often between India and Canada, she has learned many art forms and has trained classically in them during her illustrious career.
She is passionate about teaching the art of Madhubani, which is kind of like the Indian version of Zentangle. Madhubani is an art form that was based out of the village of Mithila in India where primarily women started to draw and paint stories with motifs from nature to pass on traditions. They used hand made paper and panted and drew with twigs, pigments, fine brushes and paints. The result is a beautiful and rich piece of storytelling in art, a tapestry of imagery that leaves no piece of the paper empty from design, motif and colour.
Come and learn the motifs, the fundamentals of design and put together your own story in an ancient art ready to frame.
